A strong retaining wall starts below grade. We excavate properly, install a compacted gravel base, and set the first course level and locked in. This foundation work prevents settling, leaning, and premature failure, especially in freeze–thaw conditions.

Water is the silent wall-killer. We install drainage stone and perforated drain pipe behind the wall, then backfill in layers for proper compaction. This relieves pressure, moves water away safely, and keeps the wall doing its job for decades.

Geogrid is a structural reinforcement that ties the wall into the backfill and soil behind it. Installed in layers, it spreads the load, resists movement, and significantly increases wall strength. For taller walls or heavier loads, geogrid isn’t optional — it’s what turns a stacked wall into a true engineered system.
